Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing hot days and cold nights for the last few days as warm and moist air is entering the state from the west and north. However, the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has predicted that the nights will be warmer as the mercury will rise gradually during the next two days – often making days unbearable.
At least 12 places in Odisha recorded minimum temperature below 15°C on Monday and the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in G.Udayagiri 9°C. It was followed by Phulbani (9.5°C), Rourkela (9.6°C), Jharsuguda (10.2°C), Semiliguda (10.6°C), Kirei (11.6°C), Chipilima (11.9°C), Sundargarh (12.2°C), Keonjhar (13.1°C), Hirakud (13.3°C), Subarnapur (13.5°C) and Sambalpur (13.8°C). The minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar was (17.9°C) and 18°C in Cuttack.
On the other hand, the day temperature crossed 35°C at four places in the state. The maximum temperature in Jharsuguda was 35.6°C followed by Sundargarh (35.4°C), and both Bolangir and Parlakhemundi (35.2°C). The maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar was 33.5°C and 31.6°C in Cuttack.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in 11 districts till Wednesday reducing visibility to 50 to 200 meters.
Overall, the weather will remain dry and there will be no significant change in the temperature in the next few days.
