Bhubaneswar: It seems that Odisha is yet to get relief from the intense heatwave prevailing across the state for over a week now. At least 14 places in Odisha recorded 32°C or above at 8.30 am on Monday.
According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, the day temperatures (maximum temperatures) recorded at the 14 places in the state this morning are below:
- Bhadrak: 35.6°C
- Balasore: 35.4°C
- Phulbani: 34.6°C
- Bhubaneswar: 34.4°C
- Cuttack: 34.2°C
- Keonjhar: 34°C
- Baripada: 34°C
- Kendrapara: 33.4°C
- Rourkela: 33.4°C
- Chandbali: 33.2°C
- Puri: 33°C
- Sonepur: 32.4°C
- Titlagarh: 32.4°C
- Jagatsinghpur: 32.2°C
The weather office has issued an orange warning for heatwave in 14 districts of the state today. At the same time, a yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by rain has been issued for 19 Odisha districts.
