Bhubaneswar: The local office of the Indian Meteorological Department here on Thursday issued a yellow warning for 17 districts forecasting lightning and thunderstorm over the next 24 hours.
As per the afternoon bulletin of the IMD, thunderstorm with lightening is very likely to occur at one or two places over – Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
This system is very likely to be accompanied by moderate to heavy rains at one or two places across the State during the next 24 hours. Such a weather is very likely to continue till the morning of April 11.
Similarly, on Friday, thunderstorm with lightening and Hailstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Kandhamal, the IMD predictions noted.
“No large change in Maximum temperature(Day temperature) during next 4 to 5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha,” the IMD stated. On the other hand, the maximum and minimum temperatures at Bhubaneswar will be around 38 degrees and 25 degrees respectively, with cloudy sky and moderate rainfall and thunderstorm.
