Bhubaneswar: The state government has apprised the Centre of its metro rail project plans, and a committee has been constituted to conduct surveys at various locations. Based on the committee’s report, the state will seek technical and financial assistance from the Centre to move forward with the project, informed Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.
According to the Minister, the Centre will be approached for support and advice after the committee submits its report on the feasibility of the metro project. Based on this report, the financial contribution between the Centre and the state government will be decided, determining how much funding the Centre will provide and how much the state government will bear.
Mahapatra further stated that, after receiving the committee’s report, the Chief Minister will engage in further discussions with the Centre regarding the project’s implementation. Based on the study’s outcomes, crucial decisions regarding route alignment will be made before the project’s commencement.
