Bhubaneswar: There is no proposal to run metro train in the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and no company has been paid in this regard, informed Housing & Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena in the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday.
Jena said that a survey had been conducted by the Government of India and the State government to run metro train in the twin city. Proposals for the project were invited and five companies participated in the tender process.
The tender was awarded to Balaji Railroad Systems Private Limited (BARSYL). However, according to the population-based survey, it is impossible to run metro train in the twin city till 2041 because of the lack of feasibility.
