Milk Production Jumps by 96,000 Litres Daily In Odisha: Minister

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Scheme has benefited farmers in the state, with financial assistance provided to 5,354 cow rearers, 967 buffalo rearers, and 1,59,978 milk producers’ cooperative members, informed Gokulananda Mallik, Minister of State of Fisheries and Animal Resources Development.

The Minister’s reply came in response to a question raised by MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo.

According to the Minister, the scheme, launched in 2024-25, has provided Rs 64.83 crore to cow rearers, Rs 12.84 crore to buffalo rearers, and Rs 42.20 crore to milk producers’ cooperative members through OMFED.

Additionally, Rs 2.04 crore has been provided to 1,173 beneficiaries under the fodder development scheme. Besides, 9,601 cows have been purchased, leading to an increase in milk production by approximately 96,000 litres per day, informed the Minister.
