Bhubaneswar: The minimum/night temperature in coastal and interior Odisha will rise by 2°C-4°C gradually during the next four days ushering in the experience of a mild winter.
Currently, coastal Odisha is experiencing temperatures 2°C to 3°C higher than normal, while in one or two places in interior Odisha the temperatures are 1°C to 2°C lower than normal.
The regional officer of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning for dense fog for three districts – Sundargarh, Kandhamal and Koraput.
Light to moderate fog is likely to occur in Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Ganjam and Kalahandi.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature recorded in Daringbadi was 8.5°C in the last 24 hours, while the temperature recorded in Koraput was 9.4°C, Similiguda 9.6°C, and Phulbani 10°C. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 14.5°C.
Very dense fog was visible in Rourkela, while dense fog was visible in Koraput, Phulbani and Chandbali. The SRC has written to the District Collectors and the Transport Department to monitor the expressways and accident-prone roads, especially from 2.00 pm to 10.00 am.
