Bhubaneswar: The minimum temperatures (night temperatures) rose significantly across Odisha during the last 24 hours with fewer places recording nighttime temperatures of 10°C. While Koraput continued to be the coldest place in the state recording a minimum temperature of 7°C, Daringbadi in Kandhamal (8.5°C) and Similiguda (9°C) were the only other places where the nighttime was below 10°C.
The minimum temperature in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was 16.9°C and 16.5°C respectively, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
The weather condition is unlikely to see any major change during the next two days, the weather office said, adding there will be a gradual rise in the minimum temperature over the week. Dry weather is likely to prevail in most areas of Odisha during the next few days.
Meanwhile, several places in Odisha experienced moderate to dense fog reducing visibility during the morning hours today. Dense fog disrupted normal life in Rourkela, Sonepur, Paradip, Phulbani, Kendrapada, and Paradip. Shallow to moderate fog occurred in Bhubaneswar, Bhawanipatna, Koraput, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar.
Dense fog is likely to occur in a few places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput during the next 24 hours.
