Puri: School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today directed the District Education Officer (DEO) of Puri to issue show cause notices to eight teachers of Jagannathpur UP School and stop payment of their salaries.
According to reports, today while Dash was on his way to Nimapara at around 10.20 AM saw two lady teachers on a scooter near Pipili toll gate.
By stopping the lady teachers, he asked why they were going to school so late. The teachers allegedly failed to give satisfactory replies.
Later, the Minister paid a surprise visit to Jagannathpur UP School which is located on the Pipili-Nimapara main road.
It was already 10.23 AM, he saw students loitering here and there inside the school campus, teachers chatting among themselves in the school office room while the headmaster was about to leave the campus with his vehicle.
The Minister during inspection also observed several irregularities in the documents pertaining to the school.
He called DEO and concerned BEO over the phone and directed them to issue show cause notice to eight teachers and stop their payments.
