Malkangiri: School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das on Wednesday laid foundation stone of a Teachers’ Cluster Building at Badpada near Gurupriya Bridge in the Swabhiman area of Malkangiri.
The project worth around 8.17 is meant to provide accommodation to teachers travelling to and fro between home and schools in the region, which will ensure regular imparting of education.
Das also inaugurated a boat ambulance service to help patients in areas cut off by rivers in the district to reach hospitals on time.
The Minister along with Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi and Development Commissioner Suresh Mahapatra also held a detailed review of the functioning of all departments in the district. Following which he visited a Sishu Gruha and had his meal with orphan children.
Mahapatra informed that around 15-20 kilometres road has been developed after the construction of Gurupriya Bridge. The development work is being welcomed by four to five panchayats.
Security forces are creating secure zones in the area which will boost the development work. It will help in developing road, electricity, drinking water, medical and educational facilities in the remaining panchayats in a year, he added.
