Bhubaneswar: In a strategic move to strengthen Odisha’s administrative presence in the disputed Kotia cluster of villages in Koraput district, the state government is intensifying its outreach efforts. Several ministers are set to visit the region to oversee departmental programs and reinforce welfare delivery.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida is expected to visit Kotia shortly for major programme on Subhadra Yojana, while Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra will distribute ration cards to beneficiaries in the area.
The developments were shared by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday, who asserted that Andhra Pradesh’s influence in the region has waned. “The administration is actively monitoring the situation, and a range of programs are being implemented to further consolidate Odisha’s control,” he said.
Pujari also revealed that he had spoken to the Koraput District Collector regarding ministerial visits and ongoing initiatives. A police outpost will be established in Kotia to prevent cross-border interference and monitor any activities by intruders, he added.
The Kotia region has long been a flashpoint between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, with both states laying claim to the resource-rich cluster of villages.
