**Berhampur: ** A 16-year-old boy was sent to juvenile home in Berhampur after being arrested by the police at Khajuripada in Kandhamal on charges of trying to kill the inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Khajuripada police station.
In a very unprecedented incident, a minor boy allegedly tried to execute his plan of killing the IIC, A.K Ghadei by installing three mobile batteries and connecting them with an explosive near the window of the room where Ghadei was sleeping. But his plan was foiled as the IIC nabbed him.
Notably, the boy is a school dropout and had stolen around Rs 800, a mobile phone and a pen drive belonging to the police officer.
“He might have entered the house by jumping over the gate. All the stolen items were seized from him. But the reason for the attempt is yet to be ascertained,” informed Ghadei to OMMCOM NEWS in a telephonic conversation.
After interrogation, the police found that he was a small time thief as he confessed to his involvement in three theft cases, including stealing a cycle in Khajuripada.
