Bhubaneswar: The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has registered a case suo motu in connection with a minor boy being projected as the Kalki Avatar (incarnation of Lord Vishnu).
The commission has also sought a report from the Bharatpur police station regarding the incident. The police have been directed to submit the report within 15 days. Similarly, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has also been directed to investigate the incident.
The boy being worshipped in the photo is the son of spiritual commentator Kashinath Mishra, a resident of the Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar. He has projected his son as the Kalki Avatar. Several photos of the child being worshipped with a flower garland around his neck and sacred Tulsi at his feet have gone viral on social media.
Although the origin of the photo is unknown, workers from a social organization complained to the Bharatpur police station about the incident yesterday. In their complaint, the social organization alleged that the ashram disrespected the religious sentiments of people.
