Minor Domestic Help Rescued From House Of Retired Collector In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A 12-year-old girl engaged in domestic work in the house of a retired Collector at IRC Village area in Bhubaneswar was rescued by members of Childline with the help of Nayapalli Police, said sources on Monday.

Reportedly, the son of the house owner works as a Professor at National Law University, Hyderabad, and daughter runs an English Medium school for kids at IRC Village.

The child was studying in Class V when she was allegedly trafficked from her village at Bramhapur in November 2020 and was engaged in domestic servitude. Her father is a rickshaw puller and her mother works as domestic help.

Receiving information Childline rescued the child with the help of Nayapalli Police. The child will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
