Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by four youths in the Laxmipur area of Koraput district on Saturday night.
The incident came to light after the girl filed a complaint at the Laxmipur Police Station on Sunday. Following this, the Koraput Superintendent of Police (SP) directed the Laxmipur Police to investigate the matter seriously.
According to reports, the minor girl had visited Biriguda village on Saturday night to watch an opera show at Thakurani Jatra. Four youths allegedly took her to a nearby hill and sexually assaulted her.
Laxmipur Police have initiated an investigation and detained four accused persons, who are residents of Kasipur area in Rayagada district. The police will conduct the girl’s medical examination today, and the accused are being questioned.
