Cuttack: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two youths for around 22 days inside a farmhouse near Gatiroutpatna under Chauliaganj police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
ChildLine Coordinator Narayan Shukla informed that the girl had been rescued by Chauliaganj Police at around 1.30 AM on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday and was handed over to the ChildLine and subsequently produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
During counselling, she revealed that after being tortured by her parents she had come to Cuttack to stay with her elder sister and brother-in-law. Following a dispute between her sister and brother-in-law, the former asked her to return home.
While waiting for a bus at OMP Square here, a youth approached her and brought her to Badambadi by giving false assurances. As it was getting dark, the girl became keen to return home but the youth took her to the farmhouse near Gatiroutpatna on the pretext of taking her home.
The youth along with his associate abused her sexually in the farmhouse for 22 days. They also recorded the video of the incident and threatened to kill her or post the video on social media if she attempts to escape or dares to disclose the matter.
Based on the statement of the minor girl, CWC instructed Shukla to lodge a complaint with the police. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged at Chauliaganj Police Station. At per the latest reports, police have registered a case and recorded the statement of the girl.
