Bhubaneswar: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in a village under the Golanthara police station near Berhampur.
This horrific crime comes on the heels of the Gopalpur gangrape case, sparking widespread outrage and concerns about the safety of minor girls in the region.
According to police sources, the accused lured the minor girl out of her home and took her to a secluded area, where he committed the heinous crime.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family, Golanthara police arrested the accused and initiated legal proceedings. Both the survivor and the accused have undergone medical examinations as part of the investigation.
The incident has triggered outrage among residents who are demanding stringent action against the perpetrator.
