Balasore: A minor girl died after she consumed poison to convince her family members to accept her boyfriend. Such an incident has occurred at Fatepur village under Oupada police limits of Balasore district.
Reportedly, the deceased Priyanka Priyadarsini was in love with a 28-year-old boy of the village identified as Akash Lenka. When her family members came to know about it, they called Akash and his family members and told him to sever the relationship between them.
However, on the morning of September 2, Priyanka consumed poison in front of her family members. She was first rushed to Khaira Community Health Centre from where she was shifted to Bhadrak hospital.
As her condition worsened, she was later admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack where she breathed her last on Thursday.
Following her demise, Priyanka’s family members lodged a complaint against Akash at Oupada Police Station. They alleged that he provided the poison to their daughter convincing her that nothing will happen to her but the family members will be afraid and accept their relationship.
