Bolangir: A class XI girl student was on Thursday found dead with her throat slit inside her house at Nikhilnagar under Town police limits of Bolangir district headquarters town.
According to reports, the 16-year-old girl was alone in her house today while her parents had gone to work in the field.
Her brother-in-law was the first person to get information over the phone that she was lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit. Later, her parents, brother and brother-in-law reached the house to find her lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit. It is suspected that someone had murdered her by slitting her throat.
On being informed police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter with the help of the scientific team. The exact reason behind the brutal murder has not been ascertained.
The deceased after clearing her class X exam had got admitted in class XI on Wednesday in the Commerce stream in a private higher secondary school.
