Rourkela: The news of alleged gang-rape of a minor girl in Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday night has created an upheaval in the steel city.
According to reports, five miscreants took the girl to an isolated place under Plant Site police limits, where they took turns on the victim on Tuesday night. A case has been registered in this connection and investigation has been initiated on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim’s family.
The FIR lodged in this connection alleges that the girl had gone to a restaurant near Raghunathpali police station with two male friends on Tuesday night. First, her male friends gang-raped the victim and later she was taken to an isolated place under the Plant Site Police limits where three persons joined her male friends and took turns on her again.
Till the time of writing this report no accused person was arrested.
It is a shame for the steel city as this is the second rape incident in the area within a space of just three days. While two minor girls were gang-raped near Birsa Munda Chhak under Plant Site police limits on the evening of September 21, this time the heinous crime took place under Raghunathpali police limits in Rourkela.
