Malkangiri: A 13-year-old girl has levelled rape charges against her father as per an FIR lodged at Kalimela Police Station in Malkangiri district on Wednesday.
The minor girl has mentioned that she along with her father was returning from her maternal uncle’s house on September 16 when he stopped the motorcycle they were riding on near a hill and raped her. He even threatened her to not disclose the matter before anyone.
However, on September 17, the girl disclosed the incident to her mother who encouraged her to lodge a complaint in this regard. Following it she reported the matter to the police on September 18 asking them to stringent action against her perpetrator.
As per last reports, the accused is absconding while police have initiated a manhunt to nab him.
