Minor Girl Raped In Mayurbhanj, One Detained

Baripada: A minor tribal girl was allegedly raped in Morada police limits of Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.

Police have detained a youth in this connection. The victim has been hospitalised in a critical condition.

According to reports, the minor girl who had gone to witness a fair in Morada police limits was rescued by locals lying on the roadside in critical condition following the rape.

The rape survivor was rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) here in a critical condition. As her condition deteriorated, she was referred to SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack by the doctors at the DHH.

Morada police have registered a case in this connection following a complaint by the victim’s father.

Police have detained a youth in this connection and are investigating the matter.
