Minor Girl Raped In Pipili, Accused Detained

Pipili: In a shocking and horrific incident a minor girl was allegedly raped by a hawker who lured her with a rubber band at Pipili in Puri district.

The assault took place on Sunday evening in the Pipili municipal area, sparking outrage among locals.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Sheikh Bareli from Sabala of Medinipur district of West Bengal, approached the victim’s home and enticed the minor girl before committing the crime and fleeing. The girl’s distress and cries alerted her family, bringing the incident to light.

The victim’s family promptly filed a complaint at Pipili police station on Monday, leading to Bareli’s detention. The minor underwent a medical examination to document evidence of the assault.

Puri SP is overseeing a thorough investigation, with the Pipili IIC and SDPO, assisted by a scientific team, conducting an on-site probe to gather evidence.
