Minor Siblings Critical After Being Shot By Unidentified Miscreants In Angul

Angul: In a shocking incident, a minor boy and girl were shot on Thursday night in Bhangmunda village under Kishorenagar police station in Odisha’s Angul district.

The victims have been identified as Jagyaseni Mirdha (15) and Prakash Mirdha (11).

According to reports, unidentified miscreants entered the house of Prafulla Mirdha and shot his children who were fast asleep on the verandah. While the miscreants are yet to be identified, hearing the sound of gunshots, neighbours rushed to the spot and admitted the victims to Kishorenagar Community Health Center (CMMC). As their condition deteriorated, the children were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The identity of the miscreants and the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.

On being informed, police reached the village and launched an investigation into the firing.
