Minor Siblings Drown While Bathing In Kusumi River In Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Two minor siblings drowned while bathing in the Kusumi River near Baunsiapada village under Itamati police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Thursday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Kajal and Sai of Baunsiapada village.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the minor brother-sister duo had gone to take a bath in the river along with their mother. However, the duo fell into strong currents and was swept away.

Hearing the mother’s cries for help, the villagers rushed to the spot and rescued Kajal and Sai from the river. They rushed the two children to the hospital, where the doctors declared them dead.

Itamati police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the incident.
