Nabarangpur: A minor was stabbed to death while another sustained critical injuries during a group clash during the immersion procession of Goddess Durga idol on Monday night. The tragic incident was reported from Nabarangpur Town police limits in Odisha.
The deceased minor has been identified as Sahir Kiran Gadba, while the injured Sahir Tejab Harijan, another minor, has been admitted to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition.
According to reports, two groups of children from Saurasahi and Ladhaharijan Sahi got into a quarrel during the Durga Puja idol immersion procession in Nabarangpur Town Police area late on Monday night. The feud took a turn for the worse when one minor attacked another from the rival group with a knife. Sahir Gada Kiran, who sustained deep wounds, breathed his last during treatment at the Nabarngpur DHH.
On being informed, Nabarangpur Town police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. One person has been detained for interrogation in connection with the violence.
