Minor Sustains Severe Burns While Playing With Fire During Ganesh Immersion

Bhubaneswar: A 14-year-old boy suffered severe burns while playing with fire during immersion Ganesh celebrations in Nalihada village under Ganjam Sadar limits, on Sunday night.

The injured has been identified as Shiva Swain

The incident occurred when two minors were playing with fire. While one of them was blowing fire with petrol in his mouth, Shiva suddenly caught fire and got severely burn injuries. Locals rescued him and took him to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

As condition deteriorated, he has been referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
