Koraput: In a tragic incident, two minors, who were reportedly in a relationship, committed suicide by hanging from a tree at Kundraguda village in Borigumma block of Koraput district. The bodies were discovered on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Raghunath Gouda (17) and Laxmi Gouda (15). Both the girl and the boy were from the same village.
As per Police reports, Raghunath left his home post dinner at about 9 pm last night and did not return home.
A few cow herders spotted the duo’s hanging bodies from a tree situated behind a cashew mill near the village. They informed the families who then informed the Borigumma Police.
Local rumour mills suggest the young lovers took the drastic step after they found opposition from their respective families.
The Police have initiated a probe in this matter.
