Bhubaneswar: A miscreant today abandoned a dead minor girl at Sunabeda Hospital in Koraput and fled the scene.
Police said that the dead child was from Kunduli area under Patangi police station. However, it is not known who left the body at the hospital. The guardians or parents of the dead girl have not been identified.
According to eyewitnesses, a man came to the hospital at around 3.30 PM with a minor girl on a bike. After some time, the minor girl was put on the bed and fled from the spot.
The girl remained unattended for hours on the medical bed. The doctors and nurse attended to her and examined her health condition. However, she was found be dead.
Medical authorities reported the matter to the police as no one claimed for the body.
Police started an investigation by examining the CCTV footage. The feet of the minor girl bore small wounds with turmeric and red colour. The police conducted raids at various places to identify the miscreant.
