Nabarangpur: In broad daylight, three unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a trader with swords and looted Rs 4 lakh from him near Chaklapadar village under Jharigaon police limits in Nabarangpur district today.
The injured trader identified as Rajendra Yadav of Chachha village under Jharigaon block, who was grievously hurt in the attack has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here.
According to reports, the incident took place near Chaklapadar while Yadav carrying the cash in a bag was going to Kangra bazaar on his motorcycle today.
Three bike-borne miscreants attacked Yadav with a sharp weapon on his right hand fled the spot after snatching away the bag containing cash from him.
Yadav, who was left profusely bleeding at the spot after the attack was later rushed to the hospital by the locals.
On being informed, Jharigaon IIC Umesh Kumar Sahoo rushed to the spot and has initiated an investigation into the matter.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants; policemen have been deployed at various points on all roads connecting Jharigaon.
