Miscreants Waylay Bus Near Dhenkanal, Sepoy’s Intervention Thwarts Mishap

Dhenkanal: A policeman’s timely action prevented a mishap in a bus today evening. The bus was coming from Cuttack and proceeding towards Bhuban. En-route on the Baji Rout bridge a group of miscreants forced the bus to halt and threatened the driver with a firearm.

Incidentally, a Sepoy of the 2nd Special Security Battalion Keonjhar was onboard. He immediately rushed out of the vehicle and snatched the firearm from the miscreants.

On realising that the person was a policeman, the miscreants fled from the spot. The passengers though petrified with the proceedings, were relieved by the cop’s intervention which prevented an untoward incident.

Dhenkanal SP in-charge Jagmohan Meena said an FIR has been registered in this connection and raids are underway to nab the accused.
