Dhenkanal: Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants shot at a gold merchant and looted gold worth Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh cash from him near Kadalipal village under Rasol police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the incident occurred when gold trader Prakash Chandra Pal was returning to his village from Cuttack. As he approached his village, two bike-borne miscreants intercepted him, shot at him, and fled with his bag containing the gold and cash. They also snatched his gold chain.
Pal sustained a bullet injury in the abdomen. With the bullet lodged in his abdomen and profusely bleeding, Pal was rushed to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by ambulance.
