Bhubaneswar: Miscreants allegedly looted Rs 4.64 lakh cash from Bangamunda Panchayat PEO (panchayat extension Officer) near Dandara on State Highway No. 42 in Balangir district.

PEO Satya Kumar Ghivela and one of his associates went to SBI in Bangomunda today. Satya Kumar withdrew Rs 4.64 lakh from the bank for the purpose of old age pension.  After withdrawing the money, he was returning to his house in Kantabanji on his bike.

Satya Kumar and his accomplice were on their way to Kantbanji on a bike when they were chased by three miscreants in a bike. The miscreants hit Satya Kumar Ghivela’s bike. As a result, Satya Kumar Ghivela and his associates fell on that. The miscreants decamped with the money bag from the dickey of the bike.

They were injured in the incident and are being treated at Bangamunda health centre. On the other hand, Bangomunda police is investigating the incident.
