Bhubaneswar: Three bike-borne miscreants snatched a woman’s mangalsutra in the Boipariguda block of Koraput district on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Manjulata Dash, wife of retired police sub-inspector (SI) Rabindra Nath Dash.

According to reports, Manjulata had gone out to pick flowers in the early morning. It was when the miscreants on a black bike approached her and asked for directions to Tanginiguda village. As she was showing them the way, they grabbed her 17-gram mangalsutra before fleeing the scene.

Manjulata stated that the mangalsutra is valued at around Rs 1,30,000.

Her husband, Rabindra, immediately rushed to the police station and filed a complaint. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the spot and began their investigation.
