Jajpur: A shocking incident has rocked Char Gotha village under Jenapur police station in Jajpur where a six-year-old boy, who went missing while returning from tuition on Wednesday, was found dead in an abandoned stone quarry near the village. The police, with the help of the fire brigade, retrieved the boy’s body from the quarry and sent it for autopsy.

Jenapur police station Inspector in charge Nirupama Jena said police have detained the father on the basis of the complaint lodged by the deceased’s maternal uncle, and further investigation is underway.

The boy’s father, Bauri Rout, has come under suspicion after villagers alleged that he planned and executed the murder.

According to reports, Bauri was unhappy with his wife’s mental condition and had been planning to remarry. The villagers claim that Bauri’s intention was to eliminate his wife and son to pave the way for a second marriage.

The incident has sparked tension in the village, with the community still reeling from the shock of the boy’s brutal murder. The police are investigating the case and gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death. Bauri Rout’s involvement in the crime are being probed as part of the investigation.
