Keonjhar: A three-year-old boy who had been missing for five days was rescued in an unconscious state from the Rengalbeda forest under Rugudi police station limits in Keonjhar district on Tuesday.
The child, son of Subash Munda of Rugudi, had disappeared on August 21 while playing outside his house. Despite frantic searches, his family failed to trace him and later lodged a complaint with the Rugudi police.
On Tuesday, some villagers collecting forest produce spotted the boy in the forest and rushed to his rescue. He was found with multiple blister-like injuries on his body and was immediately shifted to Tata Hospital, Joda for treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is currently stable.
Police have launched an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the boy’s disappearance and subsequent injuries.
