Baripada: A 42-year-old lawyer, identified as Gulesh Gochhayat, was found dead in a locked car in Silphodi Village under Jharpokharia police station in Mayurbhanj district.
The incident came to light when locals spotted the car lying in a pond this morning and informed police.
Upon being informed, local fire brigade team reached the scene and retrieved the car. The body was then recovered from the car, and the man was identified as Gulesh Gochhayat, a 42-year-old from Bisoi.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to reports, Gulesh had gone missing on September 11, and his family had lodged a complaint. He was reportedly returning from Kharagpur after dropping off a friend. He, however, did not return home.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway.
