Nabarangpur: Local villagers on Tuesday recovered the body of an 11-year-old girl from near a tower close to Kangaon Sadar Government High School in Tentilikhunti block of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district. Police suspect that the girl was raped before being murdered.
According to reports, the minor left her house on Tuesday afternoon saying that she was going to defecate outside. When the girl did not return even after a long time her family members were worried. Subsequently, they launched a search to trace the whereabouts of the girl.
However, they could not find the girl or get her whereabouts even after contacting the girl’s friends and neighbours. Around 8.00 pm today, the girl’s body was spotted in a pool of blood near a bush behind the Kangaon Sadar Government High School.
As the girl’s hands were tied, it is suspected that she was killed after rape.
On being informed Tenthlikhunti police reached the spot and started an investigation into the crime.
