Bhubaneswar: A minor girl, who had gone missing since yesterday evening, was found dead in a pond at Diliba village under Belaguntha police limits in Ganjam district on Friday morning.
Sources claimed that, the girl went missing yesterday after the 11th day of rituals for her grandmother death. Her family members were busy in rituals all the day. They searched for her after they did not find her following the end of rituals, but in vain.
Some villagers saw her body floating in the village pond on Friday morning when they had gone to the pond to take bath. Upon being informed by villagers, her family members rushed to the spot and informed police in this regard.
Based on the complaints filed by the deceased, police have registered a case in this connection.
