Barbil: In a shocking incident, locals recovered the body of a missing minor boy in Gopinathpur village under Champua police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased child was identified as Pawana Munda, nine-year-old son of Nant Ras Munda of Gopinathpur village. Pawana had been missing since Monday evening.

Soon after the child went missing yesterday, his family members along with other villagers launched a frantic search to trace his whereabouts. However, failing to trace the child, they lodged a complaint at the Champua police station.

This morning, some villagers spotted a sack lying outside Gurang Patra’s house in the village. Unable to contain their curiosity, some villagers opened the sack and were terrified to find Pawana’s body inside.

On being informed, a team from Champua police station reached the spot and started an invesitigation along with a scientific team. Upon receiving the news, Keonjhar SP and Champua SDPO have also reached the village.
