Sambalpur: Fire Services personnel have fished out the body of a youth from a power channel in Burla in Sambalpur district.
The body was found with its hands and legs tied.
The deceased has been identified as one Subind Kuanr, a resident of Ghenupalli village under Khetrajpur police limits.
Reports said that Subind had gone missing since April 26.
Subind’s mother Ahalya Kuanr had lodged a missing complaint with the local police.
Reports further said that Subind had left his home on April 26 at around 4.30 PM to meet a woman near Samalei temple and had since then gone missing.
On April 28 (Thursday) hundreds of villagers of Ghenupalli staged a demonstration in front of Khetrajpur police station alleging police inaction in tracing Subind who remained missing for three days.
Following intensive search police with the help of Fire Services personnel were able to fish out Subind’s body from the power channel.
Based on preliminary investigation, police suspect it to be a case of murder as Subind’s body was found with its upper and lower limbs tied.
Police have launched an investigation and are questioning some persons in this connection.
