Bargarh: Amid speculations about the dreaded UP gangster and slain don Atiq Ahmed’s henchman, Guddu Muslim’s presence in Odisha, a video showing a person resembling the latter is making rounds on social media.
While the person in question is being addressed as Guddu Muslim on many electronic and web media platforms, an Odisha man has come forward to claim that the person on the video was him.
Identifying himself as Sk Hanif Mohammed, this man wore the same attire as that of the person on the CCTV footage and alleged that his movement, captured on CCTV is being erroneously aired on TV channels.
“My name is Sk Hanif Mohammed and I belong to Sohela. How and why someone started this canard needs to be investigated. I am not Guddu Muslim, my reputation is being hampered,” he said.
Earlier in April, a five-member team of Uttar Pradesh STF visited Bargarh to check suspected hideouts of Guddu Muslim in the district. Guddu is also an accused in the sensational and high-profile Umesh Pal murder case.
