Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today suspended a Block Development Officer (BDO) and two Sarpanches from their services on charges of corruption.

Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena today informed that BDO of Harbhanga block of Boudh district Rabindra Satapathy has been placed under suspension on charges of promoting corruption and not following guidelines laid down for Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) programme.

The Minister further informed that while Abhimanyu Jena, Sarpanch of Kedarpur GP of Soro block in Balasore district has been suspended on charges of amassing wealth/assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, Ushant Sahoo, Sarpanch of Ankorada GP under Digapahandi block in Ganjam district has been suspended on charges of committing financial irregularities.
