Puri: Minister of State (MoS), Home Dibya Shankar Mishra visited Satyabadi Police Station in Puri on Saturday to personally substantiate the reach of pro-people programme- Mo Sarkar.
Mishra went around the station and had a detailed chat with the station’s Inspector-In-Charge (IIC). He checked the station register and the holding cells. He enquired how the officials handled complainants of various age and sex; i.e. an overall inspection of reach of Mo Sarkar and whether the common public has been able to reap the benefits of this hugely successful programme or not.
Accompanying the minister was former Korei MLA and ‘Mo College’ advisor Akash Dasnayak.
Mishra, an MLA from Junagarh (Kalahandi) also holds Energy, Industries, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises portfolios.
On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2 had launched the ambitious ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative dedicated to serve people who are visiting police stations in Odisha. The programme was dedicated for petitioners, aggrieved people, complainants, or the general public who seek police service.
In case anyone from this section of the public would be dissatisfied with the response, behaviour or action of the police, he or she can call the Mo Sarkar helpline number and report the irregularity to top notch officials, Ministers, or even the Chief Minister himself.
Over time, the programme has gained widespread popularity and kudos from denizens.
