Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday officially renamed ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ as ‘Panchasakha Sikhya Setu’, with a proposed outlay of Rs 332 crore. The School and Mass Education Department of Odisha formally notified the renaming of the programme.

As announced in the recent state budget, the revamped scheme aims to transform the education sector through the active participation of alumni and stakeholders. The department has instructed the State Project Director, OSEPA-cum-Member Secretary to implement the necessary changes.

The revised scheme is expected to introduce new measures benefiting students and promoting collaborative efforts. The detailed modalities of Panchasakha Sikhya Setu will be released soon.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the renaming of Mo School Abhiyan in his maiden budget speech recently.

Notably, the BJD-led government had launched Mo School Abhiyan in 2017 for the upliftment of government schools.
