Bhubaneswar: As a sigh of relief, the internet (broadband) and telecommunication services were restored in the Balasore Municipality area on Sunday.
The notification was posted on X micro-blogging site by the official handle of Collector and DM Balasore.
“Internet services via landlines, lease lines, broadband, ISPs, and dial-up systems have been restored in Balasore Municipality Area. A proposal has been sent for restoration of mobile internet services from June 24th onwards.” reads the post.
The District administration has notified regarding the continuity of the curfew in areas under the Town police station limits till midnight of June 24, with relaxation from 5 am to 2 pm.
Curfew to continue in areas coming under the jurisdiction of Sahadevkhunta police station till midnight of June 24, with relaxation from 5 am to 9 pm, as per the official notification.
The schools, anganwadi centres, and colleges remain to open and operate in the curfew-imposed areas.
“All commercial establishments shall remain open during this time for the public to avail routine services/activities in the above areas within this period.” Read the notification.
The curfew was imposed in the town on June 18 following a violent clash between two communities over allegations of cow slaughter.
