Bhubaneswar: The Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, for the first time in its history, has established a ‘Mock Interviews’ Cell. The Cell helps civil service aspirants in their preparation for interviews. The Cell has been established under the guidance of Shri Raj Kumar Sharma, IAS, Director General, GAA, and is functional since January 9, 2023.
In UPSC Examination 2022 nine candidates, including three women, who have qualified the written examination and preparing interviews, have participated in different sessions of mock interviews, experience sharing, etc. held in Gopabandhu Academy of Administration. Experts and experienced subject matter specialists including senior bureaucrats (retired and in-service) have mentored the candidates.
Four out of the 09 (nine) UPSC aspirants have successfully shortlisted to be appointed in Civil services as per the recently announced results of UPSC on May 23: They are Durga Prasad Adhikari – 162 Rank, Satya Prakash Mishra – 261 Rank, Sushree Suvangi Khuntia – 248 Rank and Suvasnigdha Sethi – 680 Rank.
The Mock Interview sessions were organized under the expert panel members of Aurobindo Behera, IAS (Retd), Akhila Bihari Ota, IAS(Retd), Saswat Mishra, IAS, Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, IAS, and Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke, IAS (2021 batch) and Prof KVD Prakash through hybrid mode.
Four such Mock Interviews have been conducted under the chairmanship of different eminent bureaucrats and academicians. Additionally, a series of sessions on current affairs, history and culture of Odisha have also been organised by the experts.
The aspirants have not only got their doubts cleared, but also got very important tips on how to appear and answer the set probable of questions in such an interview. They have expressed their happiness for being benefitted from this innovative and useful initiative of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration.
Dr Mamatarani Naik, Joint Director was heading the Mock Interview Cell. Additional Commissioner and Course Director Dr. Himansu Bhusan Panda also participated in the holding of mock interviews. The Director General has informed that the mock interview cell will continue as a regular arrangement in the coming years to help groom Odia aspirants for personality tests and interviews.
