Bhubaneswar: The Well Marked Low Pressure Area now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move west north-westwards across south Bihar and southern parts of Uttar Pradesh during the next 2-3 days, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday through a press release.
“Under its influence widespread to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the districts of Odisha with isolated heavy rainfall activity in some districts of Odisha very likely to occur during next 48 hours. It may cause temporary waterlogging in some places of low lying areas in the districts of heavy rainfall activity for which drainage of excess water may be required from agriculture fields. Also temporarily waterlogging and traffic disruption may occur in low lying areas of some cities in the districts of heavy rainfall activity,” the IMD warned.
The IMD in its forecast said that though rainfall activity is likely to reduce slightly as compared to the last 24 hours, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur over the districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours with isolated heavy to very heavy rain in some districts today (July 30) and isolated heavy falls tomorrow (July 31).
