Bhubaneswar: A severe weather alert has been issued for eight districts in Odisha, with the India Meteorological Department predicting moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers in the next three hours. The affected districts include Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, and Jajpur, where residents can expect intense downpours and thunderstorms.
The weather report released by the regional office of IMD has warned of water logging in low-lying areas, occasional poor visibility, and traffic disruption in urban areas due to heavy rainfall.
Residents are advised to avoid movement in affected areas and make arrangements for drainage of excess water.
The report also urges people to keep a watch on the weather and act accordingly, moving to safer places if necessary.
