Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department issued an orange warning for moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and strong winds in several districts across the state in the next three hours.
According to the latest forecast, districts such as Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Balasore are expected to be affected within the next three hours. These districts have been issued orange warnings. Residents in these areas may experience waterlogging in low-lying areas, poor visibility, and traffic disruptions in urban areas.
In addition, districts like Ganjam, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kandhamal, and Boudh are also likely to experience light to moderate rain and thunderstorms with lightning within the next three hours. These five districts have been issued yellow warnings.
The regional weather office has advised people to exercise caution and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
